The installation of GDU, necessary power generation units, condensate tanks and other infrastructure has been completed at Ayesha Fields.

The Plant is ready for commissioning. The Joint Venture has applied DGPC for further 2 years’ extension in Badin IV South Phase II Exploration License and in addition regularization of 5 months (due to previous delayed extension).

Govt. approved grant of Phase II in Badin IV North Exploration License ending December 5, 2019.

Joint Venture is geared up to drill further exploratory wells and work is in progress to finalize the location of well(s)

Executive Management

Khalid Al Saati - Chief Executive Officer

Mr. Khalid Al Saati holds B.Sc degree in Petroleum Engineering from King Fahad University for Petroleum and Minerals in Saudi Arabia. He joined Baharain National Oil Company (BANOCO) in 1985 and worked for three years as Petroleum Engineer prior working with Schlumberger for 22 years with different assignments and different product lines all over the world namely GCC, Egypt, Syria, Pakistan, USA and France. From 2010 he served Khafji Joint Operations (KJO) as Upstream G&E advisor.

He joined GPX in April 2019 as CEO.

Muhammad Azhar - CFO

Mr. Muhammad Azhar did his Chartered Accountancy from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan in 1984. He is a Fellow member of the Institute. He spent 30 years of his career in financial management, internal audit, commercial and support services in the Oil and Gas exploration and production sector. He joined Finance Department of Pakistan Oilfields Limited in 1987 and later served as head of internal audit in the same company. He served as General Manager Finance in Orient Petroleum Inc. and Saif Energy Limited from 2001 to 2012. His most recent assignment was Manager Finance of KUFPEC Pakistan Office. Since October 2, 2017 Muhammad Azhar is working with Gulf Petroleum Exploration Pakistan Limited’s Pakistan Branch as CFO

Shamim Ahmad Chughtai- General Manager (Exploration)

Exploration Geophysicist by profession, Mr. Shamim Chughtai has a Master’s degree in physics with extensive trainings in America and Canada on oil Exploration. He has more than 35 years of working experience in the oil industry of Pakistan in the capacity of Exploration Manager, GM Exploration, vice president and senior vice president in different oil companies before joining GPX Pakistan office.

Mr. Chughtai has numerous oil and gas discoveries to his credit in different geological basins of Pakistan. He has rich experience in geophysical interpretation (2D/3D), seismic data acquisition and processing, prospect generation and evaluation. He also has the honor to work and interpret technical data of many countries of the world apart from Pakistan. A few of them can be enumerated like Kazakhstan, Sudan, Philippines, USSR, Yemen, Oman Morocco, Gulf of Mexico and Turkey.

He joined GPX Pakistan as GM Exploration in June 2013, where he is looking after company’s assets, monitoring ongoing operational activities along with appraising and evaluating new investment opportunities.
